Inclusion Policy

At Kids Spot Nursery, we will provide a range of support services to guide our students through any challenges they may face, helping them achieve a happy and successful school experience, from an academic perspective as well as for mental and physical wellbeing.” Our setting is open to all members of the Community. Kids Spot Nursery provides information in clear, concise language, written or spoken form.

Philosophy

Inclusion underpins the Mission and Vision of Kids Spot Nursery, ensuring the voices of the whole community, are heard, and considered. At kids Spot Nursery, we believe our nursery community should mirror our image of global society as it could be diverse, inclusive, and equitable. Therefore, we endeavor to create accessible learning environments for all learners, including students with additional support needs, students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and students who are gifted and talented.

Rationale

To ensure that our service is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children, particularly those defined in The Equality Act 2010 such as: from their ethnic heritage, social and economic background, gender, ability, or disability.

To ensure equality of access and opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and adults with whom the setting is in contact with on a day-to-day basis. While creating an environment of mutual respect and tolerance

Everyone has an equal chance to develop themselves to their full potential and be safe and free from harm. The Early Years Foundation Stage states that ‘’ Children should be treated fairly regardless of race, religion, or abilities’’, and it includes:

  • Talents are fostered, not suppressed.
  • No one experiences disadvantage or discrimination.
  • All forms of bullying and harassment are condemned and challenged.
  • Individual and community needs are responded to in a sympathetic and imaginative manner.
  • Appropriate levels of support are allocated to individuals and groups to ensure that their potential is fulfilled.
  • The principle of equity applies.
